Ask HP.
The Canon printer i bought from Staples came with starters catridges. They thought i should get more when i bought the printer. I didn't. I've probably printed 50 8 x 10's photos, on my Canon starter cartidges. Looks like one color is getting low now. I don't know about HP but Canon gives you plenty in the starter cartridge.
They are probally about half full they will last a little while
About 10 to 20 percent; companies in this bis make their money on ink, not printers!
