I have a Canon IP4500 with refilled ink tanks. The problem is that the printer doesn't show the status of the refilled tanks and I have to check them manually.
There are two tanks, one with the ink is already empty but the bigger one with sponge is still colored. The prints are still great, and I remember that the original one was also empty but the printer showed its half-full...How to check refilled Canon inks?
The refill ink does not damage your printer - this is an industry peddled myth. I have a Canon with filled ink and you only refill when you see that the print outs are not has they should. Ink level readers even in original cartridges are never correct and when they say ink low there is usually 10-20% of ink still in them. I have refilled for 5 years and I can tell you you can not tell the difference between the refilled and original cartridges and I have two printers on the go now and I have three previous that I have for 5 years. All refilled regular and not one problem with any of them in all that time. If refilling caused damage do you think anyone would use them? The fact they are still still bought by the same people repeatedly means the damage claim is nonsense. Apart from that with printer prices these days being as cheap as to buy new ink if it damaged it its just as cheaper to buy a new printer which comes with ink so you have not much to loose and everything to gain by refiling!
So, to answer your question, you can not reset your ink level with refilled or compatibles you just have to wait until print quality deterioration as a sign of low ink and then refill again. Only new original cartridges will reset the ink levels but as I said, when they show low they are not always accurate. How to check refilled Canon inks?
That is one of the draw backs of refilling. LUckily you have a nice clear tank so it is easy to gage.
When the front chamber is empty, refill them.
Stop refilling inks!!! it will eventually damage u printer head. Its bette to buy cheaper brands from the markets than to refill. The reason this is happening is cos every catridge has a computer chip. The chip only works properly with printer once. When its empty is wont reset, Hence it shows half way, doesnt use all of it etc
