Did u refill yours or you bought a new one?

I have a canon printer and i replaced both ink cartridges the black works just fine but my color ink refuses ?

is there an alignment problem or what should i do..I have a canon printer and i replaced both ink cartridges the black works just fine but my color ink refuses ?
It could be a faulty cartridge. Have you tried replacing the color cartridge?I have a canon printer and i replaced both ink cartridges the black works just fine but my color ink refuses ?
What kind of error message are you getting? You could have a clog which can be easily fixed by running a print head cleaning.

If that doesn't work, try unplugging your printer - this can help to reset the printer.

Are there problems using chip replacement ink cartridges in a Canon MP600 printer?

Have you successfully used compatible cartridges and swapped the chips? If so how many times were you able to do so before the printer complained? Are you able to reset the ink cartridge chip? If so how?Are there problems using chip replacement ink cartridges in a Canon MP600 printer?
As far as I know nobody has found a way of resetting the chips yet.

You can turn off the warnings of low ink by clicking the right buttons when it warns you. You have to do this with each cartridge.

Once you've done this for each cartridge it shouldn't warn you again.

Apparently this will be recorded on the printer and will void your warranty.

Would an HP 15 Ink Cartridge work in a Canon i90?

I bought an HP 15 instead of a canon 15 ink cartridge, would it work with my canon i 90 pixma printer?

thanksWould an HP 15 Ink Cartridge work in a Canon i90?
Probably not. The cartridges are designed for only one printer model. The fact that they are both a model ';15'; does not mean thye have anything in common.Would an HP 15 Ink Cartridge work in a Canon i90?
No, you can not use HP 15 for your canon pritner. The design is different, your printer can not recognize this cartridges.

You can buy new compatible Canon 15 cartridge, which is cheap and reliable. They provide one year warranty.

    http://www.123inkcartridges.ca/catalog/s鈥?/a>
Definitely not. Each printer manufacturer programs their printers and ink cartrige chips differently. So there is no way they will work.

My Canon Pixma printer's Waste ink absorber is full. How can I service it myself?

not sure on what ,model you have but i've done this myself on my S300 and i560. There should be small slats on the body of the printer. small flat ones that allow a flat head screwdriver to be insterted. Press down in those clips i beleive, and lift the cover off. now there should be 2 or 3 screws, screwed into the bottom base of the printer. take them out. then lift the printer mechisism out. 3 big white/black pads will be there. Wash them out with hot water until most of the ink is gone(not coming off into water). Clean the bottom base of the printer where those pads are. after that, put the pads in the exact order they were in before you took them out. Screw the printer mechisim back into the bottom base, the snap the main cover back on. if this error still comes up follow this code

    1) Power off printer

    2) Hold RESUME button then press and hold POWER. (The beeper MAY sound once, or may not depending on your model.)

    3) Hold POWER and Release RESUME.

    4) Press RESUME twice then release both POWER and RESUME buttons.

    5) When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME 4 times (for the S900, 3 times for the 8200 apparently).

    6) Press power to set data.

    7) Print away

This code works on almost all printers that have this problem. Please ignore the S900 and 8200 models. works for many others. My Canon Pixma printer's Waste ink absorber is full. How can I service it myself?
    no way

Where is the ink tank thing in the printer Canon pixus MP620?

i want to change the ink in my printer (canon pixus MP620) but i don't know where the ink tank thingy is lol does anyone know where it is????Where is the ink tank thing in the printer Canon pixus MP620?
Well, I have never seen that particular model, but I would suggest you just lift up the cover and the ink tank might appear. But your printer should have a guide. Go to the control panel on your computer; click on your printer and then on printing preferences. When it comes up look for a box called instructions, or maybe try maintenance.

When cartridges are refilled sometimes a little bit of ink seeps up behind the electronic strip, this causes and electronic fault which results in a check cartridge warning.

Take the cartridge back to where you had it refilled and get a refund. Nothing you can will get your printer printing.

I have a canon mp 160 printer and after I refilled the ink I have an e5 error code how do i reset it?

sounds like to me that you have cartidge burnout...an old cartidge or one that was run dry. The way to tell this is take the cartidge back to the store that refilled it, and ask them to run a test page on their printer. If it doesn't work with their's, then it is time to buck up and either replace the cartidge or get a new printer, hope it helps!I have a canon mp 160 printer and after I refilled the ink I have an e5 error code how do i reset it?
I have not got my other Canon printer installed which is similar to yours to check but sounds like you need to reset the printer. Mine used to do that and I would have an orange triangle light up I seem to remember. There should be a little button on the panel that has a red triangle inside a red circle. Hold this down hard until the orange light goes of. If it does not work first time try turning the printer off then on after a minute and if that still does not help press the re-set button again. It seems like ages that you are holding the button but it needs a firm press or it won't work.

    Actually, you can override this.

Install refilled cartridges and attempt to send a print job.

Messages appear on screen (3, I think) that basically tell you that you're going to hell for using 3rd party inks. Just click ';continue'; or ';ok';.

Last message tells you to override the ink level indicator by pressing and holding the resume button for 3-5 seconds.

Do it . You might have to re-send your print job.

Oh, you'll have to do this for each installed tank.Has anyone ever refilled ink cartridges for the Canon PIXMA iP4300 ???
i'm not sure which cartridges that one takes right off hand, but if you have a reset button on your printer, try holding it down for about 5 seconds. that should release the ink status munitor function.
i have an ip4300 and only buy new canon cartridges, never refilled, ruined my last canon using refills because they are usually watered down
Take the cartridges out of the printer and reinstall them again, there is no reset button on the printer, turn the printer off and restart it again, you might have to do it a couple times but it usually works the first time, hope this helped and good luck.
They actually have a smart chip with a 256 bit encyption, you cannot over ride this. you do need to replace the chip, or the cartridge.

What exactly is installing; is it just putting the cartridge in the printer or is it more in-depth than that? Please help!Canon MX300 printer, need help installing ink cartridge?
I have some instructions for you:

    1. Make sure the printer is on and paper is loaded in the tray.

    2. Gently lower the print carriage access door at the front of the unit. Do not force it.

    3. Press down on the print cartridge gently to release it. Pull it towards you and remove.

    4. Take the new cartridge out of its packaging. Gently remove the plastic tape by pulling on the pink pull tab.

    5. Slide the new print cartridge into the empty slot, and gently push forward until it clicks into place. If it does not click, do not force it. Remove it, and try again.

    6. Close the print carriage access door. An alignment sheet will print to make sure everything is lining up.

    Hope these help.

What websites can I buy bulk ink for canon printer? I bought from inkjetgoodies b4 but now the site is gone?

There are many Ink Supplier Websites: search for

    ';Inkjet Cartridge Refilling';.

For ~ the last 4 months, I have been buying my refill ink from Printer Ink Warehouse [ PrinterInkWarehouse.com ], %26amp; have no complaints; I will list three Ink Suppliers in the sources box below.

I am in the process of starting my own Home-Based ';Inkjet Cartridge Refilling';, but due to a limited amount of Start-Up money, will start with HP only, then expand. During the past 3 months, have done massive research on Refilling Business, but have concentrated my efforts to HP - however, some of the information is ';Universal';.

Even though I'm not very familiar with Canon, the two most important things I could say {%26amp; there are others}:

    01. Buy the correct type of ink for your Cannon, especially Black. If my information is correct {%26amp; I'm not sure it is}, your Cannon will need to use ';Dye-Based'; Black; Ink Suppiers will tell you for sure. This is important, since printers that use ';Pigmented'; Black [like HP] have a completely different way of getting the ink to the paper.

    * Note: NEVER USE SO-CALLED ';UNIVERSAL INKS'; - Universal Inks are just a disaster waiting to happen; they might be a bit cheaper to buy [in the short run], but are much more expensive [problems] in the long run.

    02. Do not overfill your Inkjet Cartridges; fill to ~ 80% of capacity - no more. This is especially true when refilling ';Tri-Color'; - overfilling will result in ';Cross-Contamination';, %26amp; the colors will not print correctly.

Several days ago, I created a new group @ ';Yahoo-Groups'; - I named it ';Inkjet Cartridge Refillers; Individuals';:

Description:'; I am creating this group in hopes of Networking with other individuals who are interested in refilling Inkjet Cartridges, from those who have never refilled, to those who want to start their own Home-Based Inkjet Refilling Business';.

';This group will hopefully share information, including research, answers, %26amp; common mistakes, to where we can all benefit';.

If you want, you're welcome to join.

Actually, if you're refilling your own Canon's, I could probably learn quite a bit from you - I plan on expanding to refilling Canon, Dell, %26amp; Lexmark in the future.

    Good Luck,

    Ken C.

And if so how did you get on and is there any tricks to by pass the chip that is on the carteidge.Has any one tried to put a non standard ink cartridge into a Canon MP510/530?
You can override the ink level indicator chip by holding down your resume/reset button for 3-5 seconds. You will lose the luxury of having the printer tell you when your tanks are empty....but those particular tanks are clear. You can see the remaining ink by simply looking at the tanks.

As far as quality goes, stick to a reputable company with a money-back guarantee.Has any one tried to put a non standard ink cartridge into a Canon MP510/530?
I have a MP170 which takes the same cartridge.

You can send the cartridges away and have them refilled which does save some money, but when I bought a non standard there were two problems. First was that without the chip the printer kept saying that it could not recognise the ink levels. Therefore it did print but didn't know when it was running out.

The second problem was that the print quality was nowhere near as good as with the genuine Canon inks.

So basically, I would spend the extra and stick to the originals.

    Hope that helped

    Canon printer ink tank question?

I have a Canon Pixma 500 printer and the ink tank's are very expensive. I see for sale on Ebay and other sites refill kits, after market tanks, ect. for much less money. I am kinda' skeptical. I once tried an after market tank, the one that requires the 'chip' to be removed from the original and placed on the after market tank, not too good! Have you had any success with any ink tank/ refill kit ect. other than the original Canon tank? ThanksCanon printer ink tank question?
I have never used refurbished tanks myself after hearing the horror stories about them bleeding, etc. I have the Canon Pro9000 with 8 cartridges and I have found that Canon makes a value pack containing all eight of them. Buying the ink this way has resulted in massive savings for me.

Also, Staples will raise the price significantly, I have found Circuit City to be the cheapest thus far. Newegg.com is also rather cheap, but you have to pay shipping.Canon printer ink tank question?

as long as you buy from a reputable place (I would not recommend ebay for ink) using a compatible cartridge will be fine.

  • How to check refilled Canon inks?

I have a Canon IP4500 with refilled ink tanks. The problem is that the printer doesn't show the status of the refilled tanks and I have to check them manually.

There are two tanks, one with the ink is already empty but the bigger one with sponge is still colored. The prints are still great, and I remember that the original one was also empty but the printer showed its half-full...How to check refilled Canon inks?
The refill ink does not damage your printer - this is an industry peddled myth. I have a Canon with filled ink and you only refill when you see that the print outs are not has they should. Ink level readers even in original cartridges are never correct and when they say ink low there is usually 10-20% of ink still in them. I have refilled for 5 years and I can tell you you can not tell the difference between the refilled and original cartridges and I have two printers on the go now and I have three previous that I have for 5 years. All refilled regular and not one problem with any of them in all that time. If refilling caused damage do you think anyone would use them? The fact they are still still bought by the same people repeatedly means the damage claim is nonsense. Apart from that with printer prices these days being as cheap as to buy new ink if it damaged it its just as cheaper to buy a new printer which comes with ink so you have not much to loose and everything to gain by refiling!

So, to answer your question, you can not reset your ink level with refilled or compatibles you just have to wait until print quality deterioration as a sign of low ink and then refill again. Only new original cartridges will reset the ink levels but as I said, when they show low they are not always accurate. How to check refilled Canon inks?
That is one of the draw backs of refilling. LUckily you have a nice clear tank so it is easy to gage.

When the front chamber is empty, refill them.

Stop refilling inks!!! it will eventually damage u printer head. Its bette to buy cheaper brands from the markets than to refill. The reason this is happening is cos every catridge has a computer chip. The chip only works properly with printer once. When its empty is wont reset, Hence it shows half way, doesnt use all of it etc

Someone please help on putting in a new ink cartridge for a canon printer?!:(?

So idk why but my dad threw away the ink cartridges for our canon pixma iP1600 printer.

So I went to go buy ONLY the color one.

    But the thing is,

that idk how to put in a new ink cartridge cause I've actually refilled or gotten a new one.

And i've tried looking at the manual,

    doesnt help at all

Can someone please give me instructions on how to put a new ink cartridge?Someone please help on putting in a new ink cartridge for a canon printer?!:(?
I don't know if my way works since i don't have your printer but most of the printers are the same.

First, open the ink cartridge. Try looking for places that allows you to open. It should be near where you insert the paper but not all printer has the same setup.

Second, since your dad threw away the old ink, i'm assuming you don't have any ink inserted in the printer. By the way, for most color printers to print, you'll need the color ink AND the black ink.

The color ink goes into the place where it has a logo that has three circles (i believe the colors are pink yellow blue or smth similar) and the black ink goes to the place where theres a single black circle logo. Just push it in and close the hatch.

Hope it helpsSomeone please help on putting in a new ink cartridge for a canon printer?!:(?
Go to the link below and click on the link named ip1600qsg_en.pdf,then on the next page accept the agreement, then the manual will come up,it is a PDF file so you will need like acrobat reader to read it.then read page 5,6 and 7,that's showing you how to install the print cartridges. The color cartridge goes on the right under C tilt the top of the cartridge toward you a little then slide the bottom in all the way, making sure its at the bottom of the slot, then push up and in on the top part of the cartridge until it clicks in place.Make sure you pull the tape off the cartridge and don't touch any contacts on it either.need more help email me.

How reset chips on ink tanks for canon mp530 printer?

THis mean on refill ink tanksHow reset chips on ink tanks for canon mp530 printer?
I would suggest getting a continuous ink system instead new individual cartridges...it is equal to 61 cartridges of each color so the need to refill it is alot less often. They cost about $50 for the complete system including the ink.

They are easy to install and not messy at all...it took me about 5 minutes to get mine completely installed and when I need to refill it the tanks are outside of my printer so there is no need to remove the cartridges.

The cartridges are also set with non-expiring chips so there is no need to reset the printer. I am very please with the quality of the ink also. It has saved me a fortune. If you are not planning to buy a new cartridge with chips, then you need a chip resetter to reset the chip. Here is the search results in ebay.co.uk, http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/_W0QQ_dmptZ鈥?/a>

Another solution is compatible cartridge with chip attached. Please note these are newly-made rather than reset and they cannot be reset.

How to install ink catridges for Canon MX310?

We just bought a brand new, hot-off-the-truck, Canon Pixma MX310 MFP from Office Depot. We were so excited about having this sleek printer added to our already expanding MFP family at the house, we automatically assumed it came with the USB cord. No problem, just a quick trip back to the store.

The next problem concerned the ink cartridges. The directions looked simple enough, but when we attempted to insert them, it did not work. No click. They are LOOSE. It feels like something is missing, like a part or the ';holder'; itself! It's like they have nothing to attach to!

It does say something about the fine catridge remover automatically moves to the left. I'm guessing the printer has to be on already or something? How to install ink catridges for Canon MX310?
I'm assuming when you said ';fine catridge'; you meant FINE cartridge. FINE is an acronym for the Canon Ink Cartridges. Anyhow, plug your printer into the electrical outlet and turn the power on. Wait about 1-3 minutes and open it up and the Ink Cartridge holders should move to the left for you to properly insert your Ink Cartridges. How to install ink catridges for Canon MX310?

Press down the little button with the red triangle in the circle and hold it until the orange light, that I.m assuming in on as it a warning message, I have that same model and used compatibles so had same message. This should reset it. If not, turn off the printer and then back on again and try the holding of the button again. You have to hold it down hard for a fair few minutes for it to work. It should then print but will not show ink levels so you will have to watch for print quality to deteriorate to alert to you to when you need to change ink.Canon Printer MP220 how do I turn off the alert telling me I am low on ink? Has any one tried to put a non standard ink cartridge into a Canon MP510/530?

I am looking for the same answer. I am thinking of purchasing from www.meritline.com. There is ink is C%26amp;G brand and I have heard some good things about them. You just have to be sure to keep the OEM chips from your old cartridges and put them onto the C%26amp;G brand ink. I am skeptical about this, but I think I am going to give it a shot. You can get 14 cartridges for $25.00. I hope this helps some- no one answered my question about the quality of C%26amp;G ink yet.

They will continue to read as empty, until you replace the cartridge. Refilling a new canon does not work.

You are probably going to keep encountering the chip transfer.

as long as you buy from a reputable place (I would not recommend ebay for ink) using a compatible cartridge will be fine.

Its practical if you don't print much photo, otherwise you got to get an individual cartridge type which is higher end model for canon.Re: Canon Pixma Mp160, How is the ink consumption of this printer? Is it an ink sucker? How much is the ink?
Check some of the magazines for reviews of this unit. PCWeekly and CNet both have fairly large data bases on reviews. Have had Canon printers in the past and they were not as bad as others at the time. Some of the Canons have a small ink supply cartridge and it is the same price for those as for a larger one from other makers.

How to reset CANON IP 3500 waste ink absorber full?

All inkjet printers have a waste ink tank for ink which does not make it on the paper. When it's full, the printer stops working. You might be able to reset the counter in the printer, but unless you also emptied the tank, it won't help. It's like using a chip resetter to tell an empty cartridge it has ink. The ';out of ink'; error will go away but you still can't print. Unless you want to go through the tedious and messy process of emptying the ink tank, you are best off getting another printer. They're practically disposable today.

i have a printer which takes canon pg 41 %26amp; 40 fine cartridges and was wondering if they are refillable( which i dont think they are ) if not, where is the best place ( and cheapest ) to buy them?Canon ink cartridges?
Yes, you can refill these. However, I would not recommend this for the average user. Instead I'd check out professionally remanufactured cartridges, which are usually about 30% cheaper than new replacements. Here is a link to a site that sells them:

    http://www.castleink.com/_Canon.htmlCanon ink cartridges?
I have a canon printer that requires same ink that you mentioned. In past I did refiled with some proffesional ink jet place shop.it was horrible.it was leaking really bad and also it didn't even accepted by my machine.allways used to say 'the ink cartridge didn't recognzie by printer'.means don't use any other ink jet other then their genuine one.so decided to buy new ones and then my printer working just fine.I think Target do have really reasonable price for any ink or office depot also offers good price if you buy them in combo pack.Good luck.
Ink cartridges are deliberately designed not to allow refilling. This is for good reason. In addition to the chip which knows that the cartridge was empty and wont work unless it is reprogrammed (and some do not allow resetting), an empty cartridge starts to develop ink clots because the residue was exposed to air. When you add new ink, those clots travel to the heads and block them. Refilling is a great way to kill your printer. If you want to save money, buy brand new (not remanufactured) compatible cartridges.
Yes, they are ';refillable';. However, all refills are not equal. Buy only from reputable, experienced dealer. Don't do it yourself.

Canons generally have four screws that hold the entire printer mechanism on the plastic base. Some models do have a power supply module that slides out of the rear of the case, remove this first. Remove the four screws holding the printer mechanism onto the lower case. Some models may have more screws, but becareful not to remove any other screws! It just lifts off.

Take the waste ink pads out and lay them down on some newspapers by the sink. Set the waste ink pads in the sink. Pour some of the cleaning mixture into them to dissolve the ink, then gently run hot water through to rinse it out. It will never look clean, don't try, just get it so there is little ink left in the wash water. It is a rather fragile felt-like substance so if you try too hard, you can end up destroying it.

Squeeze out as much water as you can. Do -not- twist it like a towel!

Reinstall the ink pads and reassemble your printer.

Once you've got the pad cleaned and the printer back together, you'll need to reset the counter or it won't print.

Nah, no customs. And also if you have notice and converted the units into INR it is always cheaper. I got all my computer parts from international stores. Only drawback in international ordering, that it arrives very slowly; that excluding the fact that there are global express package posting which gets your order to your country under 3days to 10 days, but then it costs 100$ above. Anyways good luck for the international order.

Are Canon High yield ink cartridges worth it?

Just wanted to be sure if it's worth buying a high yield cartridge, not sure which one to buy :DAre Canon High yield ink cartridges worth it?
    Hi Noobie

High yield are a little more expensive but are well worth it. We use this on all our printers. Are Canon High yield ink cartridges worth it?
My advice is to avoid high yield cartridges if you don't print ofter and/or a lot. Since these cartridges have more ink in them, they last longer -- which usually is a good thing. However, if you don't print that ofter, what can happen is that ink can dry out and clog in the print head. So my advice is this -- if you are going to buy high yields, be sure to run your printer at least once per week to keep the ink flowing.

If you are trying to cut down on your printer costs you might want to consider remanufactured ink cartridges. I've had very good luck with them for my HP printers.

How do u refill a canon printer with refill ink? still says it's empty..do i need a restetter?

if so where do i buy one please? How do u refill a canon printer with refill ink? still says it's empty..do i need a restetter?
first, a lot of cartridges have chips in them which get set when the printer is empty. in order to refill the cartridge, you also have to reset the chip. Second, newer cartridges have chips which self-destruct when empty and can not be reset. Third, cartridges are not designed to be refilled. while you may get away with it often, there is a risk. Read this http://ccs-digital.com/refills.html for details. How do u refill a canon printer with refill ink? still says it's empty..do i need a restetter?
Depends on the model of printer.

Try holding on the paper feed button for 5 seconds to disable ink-level detection. That worked on my Canon printer.
There are no chip resetters for the Canon.

Unlike Epson, canon's chip is very heavily encrypted and cannot be overridden.

If so, buy ONE re-filled cartridge and see how well it works. Stick with name brand if you're dissatisfied.

To the best of my knowledge Canon cartridges do not have chips in them.
Original Inks are the right choice because of good quality and 100% compatible with your printer but are expensive.

Alternative inks are cheap, low quality and maybe risky.
Check Ebay for the best possible price

? Good alternative ink cartridge for Canon inkjet printer.?

Would any of this community recommend using alternative ink cartridges or do you think they damage the printer.

Has anyone found a good cheaper cartridge for Canon Inkjet printers? I have the Canon Pixma iP1700.

I must add that I have only just purchased this cheap little printer and it is really good - its quiet, fast and performs to a high quality on standard settings. Only drawback is that the ink cartridges are so much more expensive than than my old Epson.? Good alternative ink cartridge for Canon inkjet printer.?
Yes. Using other ink cartridges can damage the printer, especially the refillable ones. USE GENUINE ONES ONLY. From experience, if you continously use non genuine ink cartridges, quality begins to dimish. Examples are you can clearly see lines in the printout, clogged printer, different coloured picture etc. Never use non genuine brands? Good alternative ink cartridge for Canon inkjet printer.?
A Friend of mine recently purchased from this company below. They helped and the cartridges are working well so far.You should give them a try. INK722XG will give 10% off of your order.
Remanufactured cartidges shouldn't damage your printer. With re-fill kits, you have to be careful with them, but if you do things properly, you can re-fill your old cartridges a few times before you have to buy a new one.

You'll probably be more concerned about the quality of the ink. Some of them might not be smudge proof and water proof. Also, the newer Canon inks are supposed to be more fade %26amp; chemical resistent than the older Canon cartridges.

You can also try to find places that will refill your cartridge for you. The good thing about those places is that they have a money back guarantee. Look in your local Yellow Pages for these places, or see if this company has a franchise in your city:

Using cartridges that are not Canon brand will NOT void the warranty on your printer. Read this:

Many consumers are worried if the use of compatible or aftermarket printing supplies will void their printer's warranty. The answer is no.

More simply put, this means that your printer warranty cannot be voided just because you choose to use compatible products unless the manufacturer can prove that the compatible product caused direct damage to your printer. In cases such as this, the manufacturer may choose not to repair your printer but your warranty would remain in effect for all other warranty issues.

Try canon compatible cartridges or re manufactured Cannon cartridges . Just google for suppliers. Most people find these satisfactory. The printers are sold dirt cheap or included in systems and they make their money from the sale of very expensive ink. It is often cheaper to replace a canon printer for the new cartridges, than buy a replacement set of cartridges.
I have found that there are no really good generic ink cartridges. They clog much easier and you spend all your time cleanning the heads of the printer. Stcik with the Canon ink, it also keeps your warranty valid.

After putting in new ink cartridge, Canon ImageClass MF6530 only prints blank pages?

Canon Customer Support was terrible - no help.

    Thanks in advance!!

/After putting in new ink cartridge, Canon ImageClass MF6530 only prints blank pages?
Only four reasons it can be happening...

The obvious - forgot to remove the plastic from the jet.

The not so obvious - A cartridge not made from Canon and having a bad circuit board (System not recognizing it or not able to communicate with it properly).

Maybe obvious - A clogged jet requiring you to run the maintenance utility or use IPA etc. to clear it.

Probably not obvious at all - Your printer reverted to the full color option when you took out the black cartridge vs. using color/black cartridge. You should be able to change it within the advanced properties of your printer settings.

Good luck! After putting in new ink cartridge, Canon ImageClass MF6530 only prints blank pages?
I think you meant a laser cartridge, take the cartridge out of the printer, check to see if you removed the plastic strip that goes into the cartridge, it usually has a red or gold tab on it, grab the tab with your fingers and pull it out of the cartridge, it is usually an inch wide and 18 or so inches long, if the problem persists e mail me I can help you, hope that helped and god luck. I'm shocked to hear about your experience with Canon tech support, I have dealt with Canon for 20 years and I never had a problem, I will say sorry for the experience you had with Canon.

What can be the cause of the disappearing ink in my Canon Pixma MP800?

This printer utilises 5 different ink cartridges: black for normal b%26amp;w prints and 4 CMYK colours. The problem is, the CMYK inks seems to be disappearing.

I will give an example of the problem in the most recent case.

The Cyan cartridge run empty and was replaced. Nothing in colour was printed from that time, only the b%26amp;w mode for the copier was used, as well as the most default settings for printing documents (just letters, frames and numbers, no colour).

After week or two, the software informs, that there is less Cyan, that one could expect: like 10% or 20% was used.

It was going on like that for some time now, the ink just keeps disappearing into the thin air.Original Canon cartridges are used, temperature of the room is 25-30 degrees (Celsius scale), humidity 54%.

The printer is otherwise working: no smudges, errors, misplaced colours. What can be the cause of the disappearing ink in my Canon Pixma MP800?
There are a few distinct situations that are probably contributing to the issue.

Every time you start up the printer, it runs a cleaning cycle which wastes a small amount of ink from each cartridge. It's a ';feature'; that helps prevent clogged print heads.

Even when printing in ';black and white';, the printer will mix colours to create muddy black, unless you specify ';use black ink only'; in the printing properties prior to printing your document.

Check your printer's advanced properties and set the printer to print all colours in black.

If you're in the US or elsewhere, you shouldn't have any trouble finding compatible cartridges at a fraction of the cost you're paying for OEM ink.

If all you print is office documents, I'd strongly recommend that you give these cartridges a shot.

In Canada? Check out the reasonably priced compatible canon ink cartridges at Inkjet Oasis.

Try holding down for a fair few seconds the reset button. This is usually a little button with a red triangle inside a red circle - this is what I have to do with mine. The orange warning light should go off as well. I have two Canons and both reset using this button. One is an MP220 the other MP610. You have to hold the button down hard for what seems likes ages but if this does not work then see if the manual says anything about that error - especially if you are using original cartridges.

Regarding replacement ink for canon printers?

When you replaced the cartridges (guess your using XP) a box should have prompted you to say something similar to: ';The front cover has been opened have you replaced the cartridges';?, What you would have to do is go into the main printer settings and reset the ink counter.Regarding replacement ink for canon printers?
In your program on your printer reset you ink counter.

I have a canon mp 370 and every time i change the

ink tanks i have to reset the counter.
if there is no ink in the front of the clear plastic tank, they are not full, they are empty. The sponge area is just used for flow control and does not actually register as usable ink.

Ink level is also an estimate, however since you do have smart chipped cartridges there is no way around the fact that when they do register as empty, you will need to replace them as the printer will shut down.
Not much, if these are not genuine Canon ink, then teh chip on it is not talking to the printer.
Some printers will say that they are empty, but will still print anyway. There are a few cartridges out there that have a chip in them to prevent refilling. You can purchase a chip resetter online for (i think) about $15 U.S. dollars. Depends on your specific printer. Do a search for refilling your specific cartridges.

Does anyone know what brand of printer would be most cost effective with ink cartridges?Does anyone know if there are ink cartridges out there at a discounted price for a canon ip4600 printer? Can?
Can't really answer your first question except to warn you that a lot of the places selling compatible Canon cartridges sell them without the chip and expect you to move the chip from the old cartridge. This doesnt always work.

The answer to your second question:

Right now Epson is having a blowout on the 5-color R280 for $60. It even prints on DVDs.

    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consu鈥?/a>

The biggest complaint about all inkjets is the high cost of ink cartridges. http://ccs-digital.com has cartridges for about $4.50 each. They also have a unique product - a two-piece cartridge where the ink is in a separate tank inside the cartridge. When the ink runs out, you replace just the ink tank and the original chip resets itself to full. By keeping the same chip, you save 1.50 per cartridge. Ink tanks are only $3 and hold 50% more ink than disposable cartridges.

As someone who was in the computer hardware business for years (though I rarely sold printers since I couldn't compete with the crazy rebates) I have always recommended Epson. The print quality is excellent, even on plain paper. I have photos I printed on a 640 about ten years ago hanging in my office which still look good, though not as good as the ones from the CX8400 on glossy paper. The warranty is excellent. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I had one customer who needed this. He called one afternoon and had the replacement two days later. Another client bought a Canon. It needed two repairs within a few months. Each time it was taken to the repair center, then picked up a few days later. This client runs a specialty printing business and this really hurt. They have since bought an Epson and have had no down time since.

Epson has also made things easier for their customers by standardizing their cartridges. Most of their printers use one of two types. The three-color plus black use T069 (CX5000 CX6000 CX7000 CX7400 CX7450 CX8400 CX9400FAX CX9475Fax NX100 NX105 NX400 Workforce 30/40/500/600 and C120) and the 5-color plus black use T078 (R260 R280 R380 RX580 RX595 and RX680). This means you should be able to find a lot of people who use the same cartridges you do. When it's time to replace the printer, the next model will probably also use the same ones.

Though I am quite happy with the results of the CX8400, if you really want the absolute best photo quality, go with one of the 5-color ones, like the R280.Does anyone know if there are ink cartridges out there at a discounted price for a canon ip4600 printer? Can?

How do I clean my ink absorber from my Canon i350 printer, which says to be almost full?

I am trying to understand your question but I think the terminology might but different. Try looking in the users manual for printer maintenance. If you don't have a manual try visiting:

Where to find Canon Selphy CP510 ink and paper?

I am considering purchasing this photo printer from Wal-mart on clearance at $59.00. The clerk stated that Wal-mart, Best Buy and Circuit City do not carry the ink or photo paper. I was wondering if anyone has this photo printer and where they purchase their supplies. Also, what do you think of it?Where to find Canon Selphy CP510 ink and paper?

that i can't print, or '; some cartridges are installed incorrectly'; This is bull, i just want to print B%26amp;W. Please if you can help, do so quickly, i have hwk to print. Thanks.Canon iP1600 Ink Catridge Problem. I only put in the black cartridge, I don't have a color one, it still says
Many printers need both color and B%26amp;W cartridges to work. You have to have the cartridges installed--even if they don't have ink.Canon iP1600 Ink Catridge Problem. I only put in the black cartridge, I don't have a color one, it still says
Insert the empty or old color catridge. Some of the printers need to install both the catridge then only it woks. So insert the catridge if it doesn't have ink.....
With Canon printers, you will need both cartridges installed. If you want to print black only, either change the settings in the printer preferences or get a laser printer.

Is there any Current model epson or canon printers that will work with aftermarket ink without a nag?

Most cartridges have a chip on them and the driver software complains if your using a non-oem cartridge. Or it's hard to find a aftermarket cartridge that fits correctly or works reliably due to Canon or Epson's design. If Epson/Canon sold more afordable cartridges, I'd buy them but replacing ink these days is almost as expensive as the printer itself! Is there any Current model epson or canon printers that will work with aftermarket ink without a nag?
No recent consumer level ink jet models that I'm aware of allow after-market ink cartridges. This is specifically because it's cheaper to design a cartridge that can't be duplicated or re-filled then it is to allow competition into the market.

Because of this, printer manufacturers have a monopoly on the cartridges and can charge huge amounts of money for cartridges even though they cost little to make.

Because of this monopoly, there's no way to get a computer printer that won't cost you a huge amount of money in consumables.

I would support legislation that requires printer manufacturers to use Standard Type 1 print cartridges (to be defined) and require that the profit margin be no more than %50 of the price of materials and workmanship in producing said cartridge.

To the printer manufacturers: Hey, you charge us a lot of money for these things. This legislation wouldn't be required if you cared about the customer, a.k.a. your source of income. Competition is part of capitalism. Preventing competition is akin to communism. Are you guys capitalists or are you communists? Is there any Current model epson or canon printers that will work with aftermarket ink without a nag?
epson should be sued for their interference with a persons right to use aftermarket ink. dont buy one.

From where i can find original canon ink cartridges? can u also tell the price in INR.?

    http://estore.usa.canon.com/SearchResults.asp?PARENTOID=8

This Canon eStore is for the US. You can call the customer service number at 1-800-385-2155. They should be able to help you. If you open your printer and look at the cartridges, it should have the ink cartridge product name. You can search the product name online. You can also select your printer model on the website and it will display the correct canon ink cartridge for your printer.

Most inks sell on average for about $20 USD which is 787.8 INR.

  • The ink supply levels for my canon pixma arent showing on my mac?

how do i get the ink supply levels to show on my mac from my canon pixma ip100?The ink supply levels for my canon pixma arent showing on my mac?
driver for the software is not installed/ installed properlyThe ink supply levels for my canon pixma arent showing on my mac?
For some compatible or remanufactured Epson, Canon, Dell and Lexmark printers cartridges, sometimes you cannot read the printer level, or even though your compatible cartridge is full of ink, it still shows no ink on your screen.

The problems are due to two reasons:

The first reason is that, for some remanufactured cartridges, they have chips inside where there is a memory to register the ink usage, even if you refill the ink physically, the memory still consider the cartridges as 鈥楨mpty鈥?

Solution: As some cartridges have a bladder inside so that you must puncture just right with the needle to refill them properly.

The second reason is that, for some compatible cartridges, the new chip inside the cartridges cannot be recognized by the chip reader on the printer.

Solution: Update the driver of your printer. Also, you can reset the cartridge with a chip resetter.

I have a Canon i860. The black ink is getting into other color cartridges. What is wrong?

I noticed that my yellow cartridge, especially, was taking in black ink and was printing a grayish color. Then I noticed that the other colors were getting darker and darker, also. Please help. remove all ink cardridges and then remove the print head and clean it carefully, then put all together and try again. If you don't see an improvement after cleaning, i fear you have to replace that print head.

If you're already using this printer for longer than a year it could be that the print head is defective (this is not unusual and depending on how much you're using the printer).I have a Canon i860. The black ink is getting into other color cartridges. What is wrong?
Sounds like the print head has had its day. Try cleaning it first. If that dosent solve the problem you may have to buy a new one.
Your ink cartridges are defective, replace the black cartridges first if black and color are separate cartridge, see if it improve. Printer heads are on the cartridges, they are too delicate to deal with, so there is not much you can do except replacing the faulty one.

I will not compete on where to buy, cause I don't know. I will, however, suggest you not go with the really cheapy online stuff. I killed a Cannon F50 (flatbed multifunction office machine) buying the really cheap stuff. I would recommend going as suggested to reputable places including Inksell.com
Staples is a really great place to buy cheap ink.. Bring in your old cartridges and you get a discount!! The ink has very nive quality.

Will it be ok to leave my ink tanks in my canon pixma printer?

I'm putting it in storage tomorrow and it will be there for 3 months and I'm wondering if the ink will go all gungy and make the ink tanks unusable. Will it be ok to leave my ink tanks in my canon pixma printer?
My sister had her brand new canon pixma require new heads twice within a few months of purchase. The service center told her it was because it didn't get much use. They recommended she turn it on every couple of days just to get the ink flowing and keep it from coagulating. So I would definitely suggest you take the ink out.

Incidentally, she was one of those who believed you had to use genuine canon ink or the printer would get ruined. When she picked it up from the canon repair center, they wanted to run a test print so they put in compatible cartridges. She decided if it's good enough for canon, it's good enough for her. :)Will it be ok to leave my ink tanks in my canon pixma printer?
The inks would probably survive ok but I'm not so sure about the printer. Leaving the inks installed could muck up your print head. If it were me (and I too have a pixma) I would remove the inks, re-seal with the pastic covers they come with and store in a ziplock type bag with as much air removed as possible. In my opinion its better to be safe than sorry. Hope this helps.:-)
i left my epson printer with inks in for 2 weeks and had nothing but problems.

i suggest you remove the inks put tape over the ink tanks to keep them dry then when you put them back in make sure you do a print head clean before using.

    Good luck
The ink will be fine as long as the storage isnt dry and cold. This may cause the inks to harden.

Why are there two black ink cartridge's in the Canon MP630?

I've run out of the thicker one, and I will of course go out and replace it, but I was just wondering what the other black, thinner cartridge did? It's full, like the printer's never used it. The printer didn't come with much of a guide book and canon's site isn't helping.

Can someone tell me what it does and how to use it?Why are there two black ink cartridge's in the Canon MP630?
One cartridge is for photo paper, the other one is for plain paper. If you go in the paper type, you probably have it set to glossy paper. change it to normal paper. The other cartrdige will kick in.

But you will have to replace the bigger cartrdige just the same if you need to print on glossy.
