I have a Canon i860. The black ink is getting into other color cartridges. What is wrong?

I noticed that my yellow cartridge, especially, was taking in black ink and was printing a grayish color. Then I noticed that the other colors were getting darker and darker, also. Please help. I am lost without my printer.I have a Canon i860. The black ink is getting into other color cartridges. What is wrong?

remove all ink cardridges and then remove the print head and clean it carefully, then put all together and try again. If you don't see an improvement after cleaning, i fear you have to replace that print head.

If you're already using this printer for longer than a year it could be that the print head is defective (this is not unusual and depending on how much you're using the printer).I have a Canon i860. The black ink is getting into other color cartridges. What is wrong?
Sounds like the print head has had its day. Try cleaning it first. If that dosent solve the problem you may have to buy a new one.
Your ink cartridges are defective, replace the black cartridges first if black and color are separate cartridge, see if it improve. Printer heads are on the cartridges, they are too delicate to deal with, so there is not much you can do except replacing the faulty one.
