I bought a Calidad 924 compatible black PGI-5BK for my Canon iP4200 printer. Since I'm not using genuine ink, the errors come up and according to Calidad, I had to let the iP4200 release the ink. Now I've stopped buying Calidad and am using genuine. However, even thought I install genuine, the black 5BK slot is shown as empty on the computer, so how can I ';unrelease'; to show the ink level? How do I ';unrelease'; an ink cartridge in Canon iP4200?
You can't.
When you 'released' the ink, you basically agreed to invalidate your warranty and Canon's no long obliged to fix your printer if your ink screw up the printer.
Therefore, even though you may have genuine ink in there now, they wouldnt know if the previous non-original ink has damaged the printhead, hence they wont be responsible for the printhead now.
