Your question is a paradox. If you're buying genuine ink, you'r already getting ripped off. My sister, who insisted on using genuine Canon ink because she heard other brands would damage the printer, brought her brand new printer in for servicing when the heads clogged. The authorized Canon center replaced the heads. When they tried to print a test page to show her it worked, it was out of ink. They put in compatible cartridges! She decided if it was good enough for the Canon center to use, its good enough for her. Note that I'm talking about new compatible cartridges, not remanufactured or refilled ones which is a whole different story.Does anyone know where i can get genuine Canon ink for an i865 without being ripped off?

What country are you in? You could try Argos or Tesco, in the UK, they're about the cheapest for genuine ink for my Epson, or use one of the price comparison sites on the web, they'll list all suppliers from the cheapest to the most expensive, and tell you what's in stock.


Amazon look cheap until you see the cost of shipping, I'd rather go without than get ripped off by them
Why use the Canon one, if you are using the BCI 6 cartridges there are lots of choices that are not expensive, you can even refill yourself , I have a Pixma ip300 and I always do that the real ones are expensive and on top you have 17.5 % vat
my advise is is go to the website you can often get a discount for trading in or go to your loca=l cartrige shop(ie wollworths or whsmiths ) they suplly take it in they can get you one but do some price checking ^_^ that should help
